The Home and Home match with Hermon Meadow has been moved to Thursday, September 22nd. It will start at 8 a.m. The weather for tomorrow looks bad, and rather than have it get rained out and then have to re-schedule, Thea and I decided to make the change now.

If you cannot make it for Thursday, please let us know right away so we can find a substitute.

  6. 4th Annual Big Cup Scramble Is October 1st

The 4th annual Big Cup Scramble is being held on Saturday, October 1st at Hidden Meadows Golf Course.bigcup

This is a 2-person 18-hole scramble, and we will be using the 8 inch cups for the competition. Sound easy? Well, we will only promise that the cups will be on the greens. Where on the greens? That all depends on how evil our greens superintendent Chad Armell is feeling that particular day. However, since he will be playing in the tournament, he might not want to make things too difficult.

The cost is $20 per team ($10 per player) for Hidden Meadows members, and $40 per team ($20 per player) for non-members. We’ll be starting at 10 a.m., and it’s a shotgun start, so everyone will start and finish at the same time. This tournament is a TON of fun, so make sure to set some time aside to play. You can call the pro shop at 207.827.4779 to register.

  7. Daniel Repeats, Hussey & Hussey Win Champion Titles

Cole Daniel came out with both guns blazing on Sunday morning, making eagle on the first hole, and never looked back as he defended his club championship title. Daniel is the first back-to-back open division champion in the history of Hidden Meadows Golf Course.

Alan Hussey took the senior division trophy, while his wife Maggie won the women’s division. Daniel also won the junior division crown for the third straight year.

Things were pretty tight after Saturday’s opening round. Bill Fernandez offset a double-bogey on #5 and a triple-bogey on #16 with birdies on #9, #12 and #15 to nab the first round lead with 76. Daniel had his own troubles during the first round, making 9 on the par 4 6th hole, then making a triple-bogey 7 on #10. A birdie on #12 settled him back down, as he played the remaining 7 holes 1-under par to finish with 78. David Theriault was also in the hunt after a first round 80. A triple-bogey on #16 was the only blemish on an otherwise steady round.
