2017 Member Letters Have Been Mailed

Happy 2017 everyone! We mailed the following information to all of our 2016 members last week. If you did not receive this, it’s because we did not have your current mailing address. Feel free to e-mail or call us with your current address and we’ll be happy to send it to you.

Can you believe that 2016 is over? We had a great year at the course, and hope that you enjoyed your time playing here this past summer. As in years past, things were anything but boring, and as always we’re looking forward to 2017 with new opportunities and improvements.

As we look back on 2016 we hope that you had the opportunity to enjoy the new alternate tees that were opened in the spring. It was a bit later than we had hoped to have them ready, but the playing experience was greatly improved. Continuing the tee placement improvements, this year we will be opening new tee boxes on hole #1/10 for seniors and ladies to play. The previous senior tee box will remain open and available for use, but will continue to be unmarked. A new women’s tee box will also be opening on #8/17, as well as our new ‘double-green’ on #3/#12. We also plan to build a new senior tee on #5, as well as new ladies tees on #2 and #9.

The new gold tee on #1, shortly after sodding. We expect to have this open by the end of May.

Chad Armell, our green superintendent, along with his assistant Jim Gaouette, were busy last fall. In addition to more than doubling the size of #3 green, they expanded the pond to accommodate an additional 100,000 gallons of water. They cleaned out the hedge row between #3 green and #7 fairway, replacing it with a berm. Also eliminated was the water hazard that went across the 7th fairway, done by burying the drain pipe from the pond. Combined with the renovation of every bunker on the course throughout the summer, those two were ready for a vacation this winter!

Prepping the expansion of #3 green. Once completed, this will be a double-green, with #3 being the right side, #12 being the left side. We may possibly have expanded the pond a little bit to make your approach shot more interesting.

Feedback has been great for the junior tees located in the fairways for our youngest players. If you, or a friend or family member, has a junior in the house feel free to bring them out for a round. Children aged 10 and younger don’t have to worry about green fees, and we have both left and right handed junior clubs available for them to use as well.

And speaking of clubs, last year we introduced Ping to our lineup, and this year we’ll begin offering Cleveland and Srixon products, bringing our product line to five brands spanning the full range in golfing products. Both Mizuno and Titleist introduced new drivers this year, be sure to try one out this spring. As always, we’re able to offer a full club fitting (for both new and used clubs) across our full line.

Our club line-up includes Mizuno, Titleist, Ping, Cleveland, Srixon and Bridgestone.

Last year saw the addition of the picnic area between the 1st tee box and practice green, and while we had intentions of covering that last year, time got away from us. It will be completed this spring in time for our tournaments. As a member if you’re wanting to host a family or business gathering and utilize the covered area, this space will be available for rent. We’ll also be happy to put together a scramble for the golfers in the group. Catering options will be available as well.

Plans are to cover our picnic area this spring.
