  1. Carts On The Course Starting Saturday, May 20th

    Friday course update:

    We’re going to need one more day before we can let the carts out on the course. We’ve got some really soft areas on #1 fairway, #2 fairway and #9 fairway that there’s just not a good spot to route cart traffic. One more day of 60+ weather and some light breezes will make a lot of difference. So we will officially be letting carts on the course beginning Saturday, May 20th.

    We are getting fairways and roughs caught up today. We were able to get the triplex out on the greens for the first time today. We’re also able to get the triplex out on the aprons and approaches this morning. So we’re headed the right direction.

    We’ll continue with our spring green fee special today: $10 for 9-holes, $15 for all day. Thanks for your patience everyone.

    Joe & Rob

  2. 2-Person ‘Little Cup’ Scramble is May 27th at Hidden Meadows GC

    Get ready for the absolute easiset pin placements of the year! As a follow up to our popular “Big Cup Scramble” we’re introducing the “Little Cup Scramble.” A 2.5 inch cup placed in the easiest spot on the green, makes it easy to find, but not too easy. Cost is $20 for Hidden Meadows members, or $40 for non-members. Carts $24 per cart. Limited to the first 36 two person teams.

    Call us today (207) 827-4779 to register! Remember space is limited!

    We will be using an insert in all of the cups to make them 2.5 inches. this should be a lot of fun!

  3. The Weather Forecast For This Week Is Promising!

    After yesterday’s 1.5 inches of rain, this officially qualifies as the toughest start to a golf season we’ve had since Rob and I bought the golf course in 2010.

    We did get the fairways mowed with a small residential riding mower on Friday and Saturday, so we were able to get the grass knocked down before it got too wet to mow.

    If the forecast holds up, we’ve got some 80 and 90 degree days coming up this week, which will dry this place out in a hurry. We’ll probably need to be watering greens by this weekend!

    Thanks for bearing with us. We’ll have this place whipped into shape just as quickly as Mother Nature will allow. Looking forward to a great season.

  4. Philbrick Memorial Scramble is May 20th at Hidden Meadows GC

    With the not-so-great spring we’ve been having, there haven’t been too many tournament opportunities. So here’s your chance to get out and compete.

    The 4th Annual Ernest H. Philbrick Memorial Golf Tournament is being held at Hidden Meadows Golf Course on Saturday, May 20th. It’s an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The price is $55 per person ($220 per team), and includes golf, carts, range balls, lunch and lots of prizes.

    To register, contact Michael Rowe at 355-5457, or the Hidden Meadows Pro Shop at 827-4779.

  5. Course Updates: Wednesday, May 10th

    Here’s the latest update on the happenings here at Hidden Meadows Golf Course:

    As everyone is painfully aware, this hasn’t been a stellar spring, except maybe for beavers and ducks (side contest: be the first to name the movie reference and we’ve got free golf balls for you). With temperatures well below seasonal average, rainfall being moderately above seasonal average, and not many sunny days, the course is pretty wet.

    The weather and subsequent course conditions have pushed back the starting dates for our Monday Night Scramble, our Tuesday Morning Senior League, our Thursday Morning Women’s League and our Sunday Afternoon Couples League. As things stand right now, it looks like beginning the week of May 22nd we should be able to get everything started. (more…)

  6. Your Membership at Hidden Meadows Gets You Reciprocal Play at 24 Courses

    As the season slowly but surely gets moving forward, I’d like to remind everyone that Hidden Meadows Golf Course is a member of the North Atlantic Golf Course Association (NAGCA).

    What does that mean to you?

    If you are a member at Hidden Meadows Golf Course, or a member of any one of the courses that participate in the NAGCA, you are entitled to up to two free rounds of golf per year at each NAGCA course. All you have to do is rent a cart when you play. That is a value of nearly $2,000 in free green fees if you were to play two rounds at every course.

    So if you’ve been thinking about joining a golf course, make sure you check over this list of participating courses first. You don’t want to miss out on the opportunity to play free golf all over the great New England area.

    For more information, click on the North Atlantic Golf Course Association menu on our website, or check out FaceBook at www.facebook.com/northatlanticgolf/

  7. We Are Open!

    This was one time I’m glad the weather forecast was a little bit off. We were supposed to get nearly 2 1/2 inches of rain from Friday through Saturday. I took Alex and Cannoli for a walk around the course this morning, and the rain gage only had 1.1 inches in it.

    We’ve only got a couple of very small puddles in the first fairway. Even though it’s wet, it’s not nearly as wet as it has been or could be. Looks like we’re going to get a little bit of break moving forward, so hopefully we can get this golf season out of first gear.

    Until we are able to get carts on the course, we’ll continue running our spring special on green fees: $10 for 9-holes, $15 to play all day.
    Think golf. Think Hidden Meadows Golf Course.

  8. We Are Taking Bids To Build A Picnic Shelter

    We are taking bids to build a shelter over our picnic area next to the clubhouse. The area is 33×60. We want to keep it simple. Below are a couple of pictures of what we have in mind.

    We have a few reasonable requirements:
    •The contractor must be licensed and bonded;
    •The contractor must have references;
    •The contractor must be able to return a phone call;
    •The contractor must be reliable;
    •The contractor must complete the project within the time frame promised.

    Contact Joe Perdue or Rob Olsen at the clubhouse, 207-827-4779. We are ready to get this project under way now.

  9. Rain? What Rain? We’re Open Today!

    Good morning everyone! In spite of the 3/4″ of rain we got yesterday and last night, the golf course is open for business today. The greens and tees have stayed firm. The fairways are spongy, and there are some small puddles. As the day goes on, those will dissipate.

    We have a spring green fee special, $10 for 9-holes, $15 to play all day. We will continue to have this special until we are able to get carts on the course. Depending on the weather (we need Friday to be kind to us), we will hopefully get the carts out this weekend.
