  1. The Benefits of Membership at Hidden Meadows Golf Course

As fall quickly approaches, it’s time to start thinking about your 2018 golf plans. At Hidden Meadows Golf Course, membership has its advantages:

•We have rates for singles, couples, families, senior singles, senior couples, college students and junior golfers.
•We have membership packages that include golf only, golf with a cart, golf with range balls and golf with a cart and range balls.
•All members receive two guest passes, a coupon for a large bucket of range balls, a coupon for a lesson with PGA Professional Joe Perdue, and reduced rates for your UPS shipping.
•Hidden Meadows is the founding golf course of the North Atlantic Golf Course Association. There are currently 25 courses in the NAGCA, and Hidden Meadows members can play up to two free rounds of golf every year at each NAGCA course for just the cost of a cart rental. That adds up to more than $2,000 in free golf. Every year. Only a NAGCA member course can offer you this kind of added value to your membership.

Hidden Meadows has several leagues for your playing and social enjoyment. The Monday Night Scramble, the Tuesday Morning Seniors, the Thursday Morning Ladies and the Sunday Afternoon Couples. It’s a great way to get out for some relaxing competition and an opportunity to make new golf friends.

Getting ready for the Tuesday Morning Senior League to begin.

Hidden Meadows puts on several tournaments every season: The Annual Member/Guest, the Hidden Meadows 2-Person Senior Scramble, the Hidden Meadows 2-Person Women’s Scramble, the Hidden Meadows Match Play, the Club Championship, the Big Cup Scramble and the Orange Ball 5-Person Fall Scramble. We also host several annual fundraiser scrambles that are popular and a lot of fun to play in, while raising money for some great local organizations.

Hidden Meadows is a great place to hold a fundraising event. We help you every step of the way to make your tournament a success.

Hidden Meadows has one of the largest selections of merchandise that you will find at any local golf course. We carry Mizuno, Titleist, Callaway, Cleveland, Srixon and Wilson, and offer everything you would expect to find in a well-stocked pro shop: Drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, iron sets, wedges, putters, golf balls, gloves, hats, apparel and more.

If you are looking to improve your game or get fitted for a new set of clubs, award-winning PGA Professional Joe Perdue offers private and group lessons, and will tailor a lesson plan to help you reach your goals. And look no further if it’s time to replace your clubs. Perdue is a past recipient of Mizuno’s National Club Fitter of the Year award, and is consistently recognized as a Mizuno Top 100 Club Fitter.

PGA Professional Joe Perdue has been recognized by Mizuno and Titleist for his clubfitting.

Over the past several years, Hidden Meadows has built 13 new tee areas, and now offers alternate tees for everyone looking to play 18 holes. We’ve added several new strategically placed bunkers to challenge any level of play, and the third hole will make you think of St. Andrews, with a large ‘double’ green. Hidden Meadows has also become recognized for having some of the best greens in the greater Bangor area.

The new section of the third green opened this season, providing golfers with a taste of the famous double greens at St. Andrews in Scotland.

At Hidden Meadows Golf Course, we want our members and all of our patrons to have a great experience every time they come out to the course. We have a dependable fleet of Club Car golf carts. We continue to invest in new maintenance equipment to keep the course in the best possible condition at all times. We have developed a responsible fungicide and pesticide program to maintain and improve the quality of our greens, tees and fairways. We take extra care of our greens with regular verticutting, annual aerification and overseeding. We are continually making improvements and additions to the entire facility, recently adding a covered picnic area and breaking ground for a new teaching/club fitting studio.

Regular verticutting is one of the many maintenance practices we use to make our greens roll great and fun to putt on.

Hidden Meadows members can be confident that every member is treated equally. Our pricing structure is consistent, and you will never see Monty Hall jump out from behind a curtain and say ‘Let’s Make A Deal!’ All of our fees are published, and they are all available to everyone. And while we do offer Early Bird Special’s and Twi-Light Rates, those specials will never have such an impact on fees that you will ever question your decision to purchase a membership.

If you haven’t ever played here, or if you haven’t been here in a while, come on out and give us a try. It’s a great way to spend a couple hours outdoors and share time with family and friends. And while you’re here, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll see a deer or moose or porcupine, and we definitely have lots of birdies and eagles flying around.

When you think of golf, think of Hidden Meadows Golf Course. We look forward to seeing you!

  2. Garford Scramble Payout Announced; Varney’s To Provide Hole-In-One Car

Here’s an update on the Garford Scramble, which is being held at Hidden Meadows Golf Course on Saturday, August 5th.

•First place payout is $400, followed by $320 for second place and $240 for third place. That is based on a 12 team field. If the tournament fills to 18 teams, two more pay spots will be added. All payouts will be in golf course credit at Hidden Meadows, and can be used for green fees, carts, food, range balls, lessons or merchandise.

•Varney’s is providing a brand new car for the first hole-in-one on hole #8. I don’t have the details yet on what kind of car it is, but hey, a new car is a new car. We’ll follow-up as we have more information. (more…)

  3. Nice Round George!

George Thibodeau fired an 86 yesterday at Hidden Meadows Golf Course from the senior tees, the white/gold combination. You might wonder what the big deal is about that.

In golf, there are a couple of milestones. Making a hole-in-one, making a double-eagle (a 2 on a par 5 or hole-in-one on a par 4), and shooting better than your age on a regulation length course.

George turned 91 last month, so shooting an 86 is impressive. But for George, it’s pretty much an every round occurrence. He carries a 20 handicap, and regularly shoots 84-90. Also, unless he’s playing in a tournament, he walks the course.

I’m sure George will be a little bit embarrassed when he finds out that I am publishing this, as he would be the last person to ever tell anyone. But in my book it’s a pretty big deal, and I think it’s great.

Congratulations George. My hat is off to you. Nice round!

  7. 20 Years! Come Celebrate With Us August 15th

Friday, August 15th, 1997 was a big day in the history of West Old Town. It was the first day Hidden Meadows Golf Course was open for play. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of course opening, we are going to have a great big party.

Plans are underway for an all day event, which include a 9- and 18-hole competition, closest-to-the pin prizes, and lots more. Green fee and cart prices will be rolled back to what they were on opening day, and we’ll wrap things up with a bar-b-que that evening.
