  1. Senior Scramble is Monday, July 8th

Our annual 2-Person Senior Scramble is scheduled for Monday, July 8th at Hidden Meadows Golf Course.

The format is a 2-person scramble and is divided into three divisions: age 50-59, age 60-69 and age 70-older. The division you play in is determined by the youngest player on the team.

The entry fee is $25 per player ($50 per team), and includes the tournament entry, green fees, lunch, prizes and flag events. Carts are not included, and are an additional $12 per person.

To enter, call the Hidden Meadows pro shop at 207-827-4779. The deadline for entries is Friday, July 5th.

  2. Old Town Animal Orphanage Tournament This Saturday

We have openings for a few teams for the Old Town Animal Orphanage golf tournament this coming Saturday. The cost is $65 per person ($260 per team) and includes green fees, cart, range balls, prizes, flag events and food.

There will also be a putting contest for a Scotty Cameron putter, a chipping contest for a custom Mizuno wedge, a 50/50 and a raffle. The raffle features a $500 gift card, and a kayak from Old Town Canoe. Last year, there were nearly $6,000 in total prizes given out for this event.

The tournament starts at 8 a.m., with registration beginning at 6:45. There will be coffee and donuts at registration. For more information, or to register a team, call the Hidden Meadows pro shop at 207-827-4779.

  3. Junior Golf Classes Begin July 9th

We have two junior golf sessions set up for this summer. The first session is Tuesday, July 9th through Friday, July 12th. The second session is Tuesday, August 6th through Friday, August 9th. Both sessions run from 9-10:30 a.m. each day. The cost is $40 per four-day session.

The first three days will be spent on the full swing with woods, hybrids and irons, putting, chipping, pitching, sand shots and basic golf course rules and etiquette. The fourth day will be spent on the golf course. No clubs? No worries! We have clubs available for no additional cost.

These lessons are for boys and girls age 7-18. All instruction will be provided by Class A PGA Professional Joe Perdue. Class size is limited. To register, call the pro shop at 207-827-4779.

  4. Improving Course Conditions, Cart Usage Update

Gorgeous morning for golf today. We’ve finally been able to get the big mowers on the course, and things are shaping up well. We’ve got some ice damage on a few of the greens, but overall the greens are rolling out nicely.

We’ve had carts out since Monday afternoon. The weather forecast is for nearly an inch of rain tonight and tomorrow morning. If the forecast is correct, we will not be letting carts out on Thursday and possibly Friday. We will post an update tomorrow morning.

  5. Monday Night Scrambles Begin June 10th

We will start the Monday Night Scrambles on Monday, June 10th. The draw is at 5:15 with play beginning at 5:30. The cost is $5 for the scramble. Carts are $5 per seat. Green fees for non-members is $10.

  6. Spring Sale Ends Friday

We have three days remaining in our Spring Sale. Lots of golf bags still in stock at great prices and great bonus deals. Come check it out!

  7. Golf Course Update – Wednesday, May 15th

We sure dodged a bullet yesterday. Instead of the 1.16 inches of rain that was predicted, we only got 1/10th of an inch.

The course is still wet, but it looks like beginning tomorrow we’re going to see some sun and 60*+ weather. Our conditions are improving a little bit every day now as we slowly work our way out of the horrible spring we’ve had.

It’s too wet to get the big mowers on the course, but we do have a Craftsman that helps in a pinch. Hidden Meadows Green Superintendent Chad Armell is out mowing fairways with it today. It’s slow going, but given the circumstances, at least we’re able to get some grass cut.

    We’ll get there everyone!

  8. Dirigo Pines Tournament This Saturday at Hidden Meadows

According to the local weather service, beginning tomorrow the weather is finally supposed to be looking a little bit more ‘summer-like.’

With that in mind, how about a little tournament golf? Dirigo Pines is hosting a tournament at Hidden Meadows called “The Heart of The Pines” this coming Saturday, May 18th. The cost is $240 per team ($60 per player) and includes green fees, cart, lunch and prizes. Additionally, every player will receive a coupon for a free round of golf that they can use later in the season.

To enter, contact Laurie Cates at 207-866-3400 or Hidden Meadows Golf Course at 207-827-4779. All proceeds will go to the American Heart Association.

  9. Demo Day Postponed

The demo day that was scheduled for this afternoon has been postponed due to Mother Nature being a bit grumpy.

We have re-scheduled for Tuesday, June 4th and Tuesday, June 11th, from noon to 5 p.m. both days.
